Well done! You are quite accurate in your assessments. It would also serve us well to remember that our Father does not do things in the way we 'naturally' expect. The Pharisees and Saducees and their expectations of the Messiah are one prime example!

Interesting but I believe Jesus judged His generation of Israel (for the sins of the blood of the prophets from Abel to Zechariah) and that judgement took place at the Passover in Jerudsalem in 70AD. About the same time, He took to heaven those who had died (James, Paul, Peter etc) together with those who hadn't died (John etc) and the banquet began. Jesus and Paul believed Jesus return was imminent. This explanation fits with their statements of "coming soon."

1 Cor and 1 Thess were all written prior to 70AD and fulfilled in His coming for these saints. The Book of Revelation was written in code a s a last days warning for the Lord's generation to get them out of jerusalem before 70AD and into the hills where He would meet them.

Tha canon of scripture closed with the fall of Jerusalem. The Lord promised deliverance to Israel for centuries and he fulfilled it at that time. Hallelujah. That generation of believers were the "firstfruits of the Holy Spirit."

We live in the gentile age and are the latter fruits of the Holy Spirit.
